Kenneth G. Tropin

Chairman and Founder

Kenneth G. Tropin is the Chairman and the founder of Graham Capital Management, L.P. (“Graham”). Mr. Tropin founded Graham in 1994 and over the last 30 years has grown the firm into an industry leading alternative investment manager focusing on global macro discretionary and quantitative hedge fund strategies. Mr. Tropin is currently the Chairman of the firm’s Executive and Investment Committees and a member of the firm’s Risk Committee. Additionally, Mr. Tropin is responsible for managing the strategic investment of the firm’s proprietary capital. Prior to founding Graham, Mr. Tropin had significant experience in the alternative investment industry, including five years (1989 to 1993) as President and Chief Executive Officer of John W. Henry & Company, Inc. and seven years (1982 to 1989) as Senior Vice President and Director of Managed Futures at Dean Witter Reynolds. Mr. Tropin has also served as Chairman of the Managed Funds Association and its predecessor organization, which he was instrumental in founding during the 1980s.

Pablo E. Calderini

President and Chief Investment Officer

Pablo E. Calderini is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Graham Capital Management, L.P. (“Graham”) and is responsible for the management and oversight of the discretionary and systematic trading businesses at Graham. Mr. Calderini is also a member of the firm’s Executive, Investment, Risk, and Compliance committees. He joined Graham in August 2010. Prior to joining Graham, Mr. Calderini worked at Deutsche Bank from June 1997 to July 2010 where he managed several business platforms including Equity Proprietary Trading, Emerging Markets, and Credit Derivatives. Mr. Calderini received a B.A. in Economics from Universidad Nacional de Rosario in 1987 and a Masters in Economics from Universidad del CEMA in 1989, each in Argentina.

Brian K. Douglas

Chief Executive Officer

Brian K. Douglas, C.P.A., is the Chief Executive Officer of Graham Capital Management, L.P. (“Graham”). Mr. Douglas is also a member of the firm’s Executive, Investment, Risk, Compliance, and Cybersecurity Awareness committees. He is responsible for the operation of the investor relations, legal, compliance, technology, trading services, administration, facilities, and human resources departments. In July 2004, he joined Graham as Manager of Financial Reporting, became Director of Financial Reporting in April 2008, Chief Financial Officer in April 2013, and Chief Operating Officer in March 2019. In October 2021, he became Chief Executive Officer. He became an Associated Person of Graham effective February 1, 2013 and a Principal on April 1, 2013. Prior to joining Graham in 2004, he was the Controller at an early stage venture capital investment firm where he was responsible for the financial reporting and tax compliance. Mr. Douglas began his career at Ernst & Young LLP where he obtained his public accounting license and as a manager in the assurance group worked with a broad array of clients in the investment, technology and manufacturing industries ranging in size from start-up to Fortune 500 SEC registrants. He received a B.A. in accounting from Western Connecticut State University in May 1996.

Kelly Tropin Whitridge

Chief Economist and Senior Managing Director

Kelly Tropin Whitridge is Senior Managing Director and Chief Economist of Graham Capital Management, L.P. (“Graham”), where she plays a key role in the management of the firms discretionary trading team and leads the firm’s economic research efforts. Mrs. Whitridge is also a member of the firm’s Executive, Investment and Risk committees. Mrs. Whitridge joined Graham in May 2014 as a Junior Economist and became Graham’s Chief Economist in February 2017. Prior to joining Graham, Mrs. Whitridge worked at The Chertoff Group, an advisory firm focused on security and risk management, from July 2013 to May 2014, where she was an analyst. Mrs. Whitridge received a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Dartmouth College in June 2013.

Brad Williams

Chief Business Officer

Brad Williams is the Head of Business Development and Investor Relations of Graham Capital Management, L.P. (“Graham”). Mr. Williams manages the firm’s Investor Relations team and plays a key role in the development of strategic relationships with Graham’s global client base. Mr. Williams is also a member of the firm’s Executive, Investment, and Risk Committees. He became an Associated Person of Graham effective April 18, 2023 and a Principal effective May 1, 2023. Prior to joining Graham in April 2023, Mr. Williams was Head of the Client and Investor Group at Maniyar Capital Advisors U.K. Ltd., a discretionary macro trading firm, from May 2020 to January 2023. From August 2007 to April 2020, Mr. Williams was a Managing Director of Product Development and Investor Relations at Tudor Investment Corporation. From August 1994 to July 2007, Mr. Williams worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he held positions of increasing responsibility, concluding with Vice President of Product Management in the Hedge Fund Strategies Group. Mr. Williams received a J.D. and M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 1994 and graduated cum laude from Princeton University in 1990 with a B.A. in Politics. Mr. Williams received the designation Chartered Financial Analyst in 1999.

Jennifer Ancker Whelen

Chief Client Officer and Co-Head of Institutional Relations

Jennifer Ancker Whelen is Chief Client Officer, Co-Head of Institutional Relations, and Managing Director of Graham Capital Management, L.P. (“Graham”). Mrs. Ancker Whelen is also a member of the firm’s Executive, Investment, and Risk committees. She became an Associated Person of Graham effective June 6, 2007 and a Principal January 15, 2021. Mrs. Ancker Whelen is responsible for the development of strategic relationships with Graham’s global client base, including consultants and institutional investors. Prior to joining Graham in April 2007, Mrs. Ancker Whelen was Principal and Director of Marketing & Investor Relations at Stadia Capital, LLC, a long/short equity hedge fund. Mrs. Ancker Whelen graduated cum laude from Colby College in 1995 with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Sociology.

Thomas Feng

Chief Investment Officer – Quant Strategies

Thomas Feng, Ph.D., is Chief Investment Officer – Quant Strategies of Graham. He is currently responsible for the management and oversight of the firm’s Quantitative Strategies team, including the Quantitative Operations and Execution, Research, and Data Science teams.  Dr. Feng is also a member of the firm’s Investment and Risk committees. He became an Associated Person of Graham effective February 7, 2013 and a Principal on April 30, 2014. Dr. Feng joined Graham in April 2009 as a portfolio manager/quantitative research analyst. Prior to joining Graham in April 2009, Dr. Feng was part of a portfolio management team trading quantitative strategies at Fortress. From 1997 to 2006, Dr. Feng held roles of increasing responsibility, including Managing Director of Interest Rate Derivatives Research and Managing Director of Quantitative Proprietary Trading, at RBS Greenwich Capital. Dr. Feng received a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Princeton University in June 1997 and a B.S. in Mathematics from Yale in May 1993.

Barry S. Fox

Managing Director of Quantitative Strategies

Barry S. Fox is Managing Director of Quant Strategies of Graham, responsible for the oversight of the Quantitative Operations and Execution and Quantitative Data teams. Mr. Fox is also a member of the firm’s Investment, Risk and Cybersecurity Awareness committees. He became an Associated Person of GCM effective November 10, 2000 and a Principal on November 15, 2007. Mr. Fox joined GCM in August 2000. From March 1991 until April 1998, Mr. Fox held positions of increasing responsibility at John W. Henry & Co. Inc., concluding as the Director of Research. From June 1989 until March 1991, Mr. Fox was a partner at Technical Trading Group in Farmingdale, New York. Mr. Fox received a B.S. in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1986.

 

Tom Fuller

Chief Technology Officer

Tom Fuller is Chief Technology Officer of Graham Capital Management, L.P. (“Graham”). He is currently responsible for the management and oversight of the firm’s technology initiatives, including infrastructure and software development. Mr. Fuller joined Graham in March 2011 as a Senior Developer and started the role of Co-Head of Development in June 2017. Prior to joining Graham, Mr. Fuller worked at Shumway Capital Partners, an investment management firm, from June 2010 to February 2011, where he was a Development Lead. From June 2006 to June 2010, Mr. Fuller worked at JP Morgan Hedge Fund Services, a hedge fund administrator, where he held positions of increasing responsibility concluding as Vice President. From October 2003 to June 2006, Mr. Fuller was an Assistant Manager at Paloma Partners, an investment management firm and from July 1997 to October 2003 he held various positions at AIG Global Investment Group, a global asset management firm, concluding as Software Developer. Mr. Fuller received a B.S. in Computer Science from Manhattan College in May of 1998.

Chris Jones, PhD.

Managing Director, Portfolio Solutions and Research and Co-Head of Institutional Relations

Chris Jones, Ph.D., is Managing Director of Portfolio Solutions and Research at Graham Capital Management, L.P. (Graham). Dr. Jones is also Co-Head of Institutional Relations and Chief Executive of Graham Capital LLP, Graham’s London-based affiliate, responsible for managing the business operations of Graham’s London office. Prior to joining Graham in 2016, Dr. Jones was Managing Director and Head of Investment Advisory at bfinance, an investment consultancy specializing in large pension plans, from March 2012 to February 2016, where he advised a variety of global institutional clients. From January 2005 to February 2012, Dr. Jones was Chief Investment Officer of Key Asset Management, a fund of hedge funds, where he was responsible for the oversight of the investment and risk management of several funds of hedge funds. Dr. Jones is currently an Honorary Fellow in Finance at the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge, where he lectures MFin and MBA courses on Alternative Investment Management. Dr. Jones received a BA in Mathematics from Oxford University in 1992 and a PhD in Mathematical Finance from the University of Cambridge in 2000.

Chris McCann

Chief Risk Officer

Christopher McCann is the Chief Risk Officer of Graham Capital Management, L.P. (“Graham”), responsible for identifying, monitoring, and acting upon financial risks relative to financial returns in Graham’s diverse trading strategies. Mr. McCann is also a member of the firm’s Investment and Risk Committees. He became an Associated Person of Graham effective May 29, 2009 and registered as a Principal effective June 24, 2019. He was previously registered as a Principal of Graham effective September 12, 2012 through February 22, 2016. Prior to joining Graham in May 2009, he was a trader at RBS Greenwich from April 2003 to November 2008, where he served as a liaison between the trading desk and IT Staff and developed several key trading applications. From 2000 to 2003, Mr. McCann was a Vice President at BNP Paribas, where he was a trader and developer specializing in fixed income. From 1998 to 2000, Mr. McCann was an Associate at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson. From 1992 to 1996, he was a Project Engineer at Exxon Research and Engineering. Mr. McCann received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a B.S. in Systems Science Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis in 1992, an M.S. in Industrial Engineering in 1995 from Rutgers University, and an M.B.A from NYU Stern School of Business in 1998.

George Schrade

Chief Financial Officer

George Schrade, C.P.A., is the Chief Financial Officer of Graham Capital Management, L.P. (“Graham”), responsible for overseeing the firm’s trading services department which includes the middle office, financial reporting, treasury operations, and corporate accounting groups. Mr. Schrade is also a member of the firm’s Investment, Risk, Compliance, and Cybersecurity Committees. In June 2007, he joined Graham as Senior Analyst in Financial Reporting and has held positions of increasing responsibility prior to becoming Chief Financial Officer in March 2019. He became an Associated Person of the Advisor effective December 21, 2016 and a Principal effective February 28, 2019. Prior to joining the Advisor, Mr. Schrade worked as a Fund Services Manager for SS&C Technologies, Inc., a fund administrative services firm, from April 2005 to May 2007. From October 2000 to April 2005, Mr. Schrade worked as an Analyst Support Director in Finance for UBS Investment Bank. Prior to joining UBS, he worked for Ernst and Young LLP from January 1998 to October 2000 as a Tax Compliance Specialist. He began his career with Venman & Company LLC where he worked as a staff accountant from September 1996 to December 1997. Mr. Schrade received a B.S in accounting from Quinnipiac University in May 1996.

Timothy Sperry

Executive Director and Chief Compliance Officer

Timothy Sperry is Executive Director and Chief Compliance Officer of Graham Capital Management, L.P. (“Graham”). Mr. Sperry is also Chairman of the firm’s Compliance Committee and a member of the firm’s Investment, Risk, and Cybersecurity Awareness committees. He joined Graham in June 2004. He became an Associated Person of Graham effective October 9, 2012 and a Principal on October 10, 2012. As Chief Compliance Officer, he oversees compliance and regulatory matters related to the firm’s business. Prior to joining Graham in July 2004, Mr. Sperry was an associate at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP in New York from May 2001 to July 2004 where he advised major financial institutions and hedge fund managers on structural and operational issues of domestic and offshore private investment funds, including regulatory issues under various federal securities laws. Prior to joining Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, Mr. Sperry was an associate at Sutherland Asbill and Brennan LLP in Washington, DC from March 2000 to April 2001 where he advised registered and unregistered investment funds and investment advisers on regulatory and transactional matters. Prior to Sutherland Asbill and Brennan LLP, Mr. Sperry worked in the legal department of FMR LLC, investment manager to the Fidelity Investments mutual funds, in Boston from March 1998 to March 2000. Mr. Sperry received a J.D. from New England School of Law in 1998 and a B.A. in political science from Boston University in 1989.

Jason Slutsky

Chief Legal Officer

Jason Slutsky is the Chief Legal Officer of Graham Capital Management, L.P. (“Graham”) and oversees legal matters related to the firm’s business. He joined Graham in 2018 and became a Principal of Graham effective as of January 17, 2020 and an Associated Person effective as of January 28, 2020. Prior to joining Graham in 2018, Mr. Slutsky was Vice President and Associate General Counsel at AQR Capital Management, LLC, an investment firm. Mr. Slutsky started his career as an associate in the corporate department at Proskauer Rose LLP where he primarily focused on advising fund managers and investors on all aspects of the hedge fund business. Mr. Slutsky received a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania with honors in 2009 and a B.S. from Cornell University in 2006. Mr. Slutsky received the designation Chartered Financial Analyst in 2019.

Lauren Viccaro

Managing Director and Head of Human Resources

Lauren Viccaro is a Managing Director and Head of Human Resources at Graham Capital Management, L.P. (Graham), where she is responsible for the management and oversight of all personnel related initiatives including recruitment, new hire integration, performance management, employee relations, policy development and compensation and benefits administration. Prior to joining Graham in August 2021, Mrs. Viccaro was the Director of Human Resources at Aksia LLC, a research and portfolio advisory firm, and was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs working in the Human Capital Management division. Mrs. Viccaro received a B.S. in Human Development from Cornell University in May 2007.
